How fast it can change

I was standing ou on the deck at 7:00 in the morning watching the moon.

As I watched, the clouds slowly engulfed the moon.

It made me think how a great day can turn into a horrible one in just a second.

One minute the world is spinning as usual and the next it seems to have shattered into tiny little pieces.

Heekak

Heekak is a made up word that one of my best friends taught me. It is another word for hectic. I latched onto that word and use if frequently. It is my life, as I have mentioned before.

I have come to the conclusion *I will do what I can do, as best I can do it.*

I enjoy blogging but have put it on hold because of all the Heekak in my life. That is going to change and it is changing today. I have alot to say and it is time I said it. Wow..that sounds pretty powerful. Maybe, just maybe I can do it.

My friends who read my blog have been very vocal about my absence, so I am rejoining the writing world.

My husband just called me to tell me he is 5 hours away from home. He was stuck in the snow in Ohio and is very happy he can make it home at all. But he will only have about 4 hours here until he has to leave again. But the tone of his voice was much happier than it was yesterday.

As I have said many times. My life is crazy. One minute things are going well and the next it’s a horror show. At least it seems that way to me.

Being a constant worrier puts me in the position of worrying about everyone and everything. I know. I know. It doesn’t have to be that way. My family is very quick to tell me that. It just doesn’t work for me.

There are days when it seems like I am praying with every breathe. Other days I just plain forget to pray because my mind is so full of questions with no answers. That should be when I am praying the most. I guess I have to claim being human, don’t I?

I also forgot the right name and password to even get here. Somewhere I have it written down. I use to have a document with such things, but my computer crashed and all went with it. Just got into the grove last night when my friend Clem came and set me up again.

Anyway. No promises. But I will try harder to keep up.

Evil Spammers

For some unknown reasons I am dealing with spammers. They have posted comments relating to their websites. All kinds of websites, including porn. I am so discussed with it all I am thinking of deleting this blog. I also think they have infected my site with a virus. Since I am pretty illiterate about blogs I know of no way to stop it except erase. But they keep coming. So what do I do?

Old and Odd Laws

1. Virginia has a law that requires all bathtubs to be kept out in the yard, not inside the house.

2. In Baltimore, it is illegal to wash or scrub a sink, regardless of how dirty it is.

3. In Kentucky, it is illegal to carry ice cream in your back pocket. Hmm. Guess it is ok in your front pocket?

4. In Helsinki, Finland, instead of giving parking tickets, the police usually deflate the tires.

5. In Paris it is against the law to stare at the Mayor.

6. In Cleveland, Ohio, it is against the law to catch mice without a hunting permit.

7. In Arizona, it is illegal to hunt camels.

Pepsi is often used on wooden boats to clean mold from the deck. It can only be left on for a few seconds before it has to be rinsed off or it will ruin the decks completely.

Is it the same mother?

A few years ago a friend of mine was talking about her older sister and all the wrong or bad things she was doing, or had done. My friend couldn’t believe it and made the comment that how could they be so different from each other, when they had the same parents. I told her, “But you didn’t have the same parents.” She wanted to know what I meant, “of course we did,” she said. She was the baby of the family. Her sister was the oldest, her brother was next and then herself, the youngest.

It had taken me a good number of years to see it myself. At the time her and I were talking about it, my youngest was in his teens and quite different from his sister and I realized how much I had changed the six and a half years between them. I wasn’t the same mother to my son as I was to my daughter. The mistakes I made were different, because I recognized that what didn’t work for one would probably not work for the other.

Not only do we grow older, hopefully we grow wiser, but I do regret not being the best mother I should have been.

That in itself is an old saying but did you know it came from the bible? I always thought it meant that people cannot change who they are from bad to good, but that verse says otherwise. Or not? Is it confusing? What do you think?

Do you wear your Christianity on your sleeve

I thought of the phrase, wearing your heart on your sleeve, the other day and it made me think of being a Christian. I know, that is a strange way of thinking, but then again, my mind doesn’t seem to work much like other people’s.

Wearing your heart on your sleeve means to me that you are apt to show your emotions too freely. So I wondered, how many Christians wear their Christianity on their sleeves.

As Christians we are all supposed to not only show our Christianity but also to tell others about it. Spread the word. Live the life we have chosen through Christ. A Godly life. So how do we do that and where do we draw the line? Or is there a line to draw?

I remember when I was not a Christian and if there was a group of people, Jehovah Witness’s or Latter Day Saints that came to my door to spread the word, I didn’t want to talk to them. But usually they would not leave and sometimes they were not only persistent but downright rude. It really left a bitter taste in my mouth.

So I wonder, where is the line? Or is there no line at all?
